I am a mother of four, I have 3 boys and 1 girl. Our 2 younger boys struggle with a speech delay that we are working on. With that being said, things can get a bit chaotic around here and frustration levels rise. Living and learning with these boys and the speech delays has taught me patience and a whole new understanding that people see things in so many different ways. I am a stronger person because of this and feel blessed to have these little angels. I am married to a fabulous man and am living a happy life!

Austin's Science Project

Collapsing of the Bridges

Austin built 2 different bridges.  One made of popsicle sticks and another made of toothpicks.  He was testing to see which one would be stronger and could hold the most weight using matchbox cars.  After he built the bridges he slowly added matchbox cars on them until the bridge support broke.  The popsicle stick bridge broke, the toothpick bridge didn't break but he couldn't fit any more cars on it.

The toothpick bridge proved to be the stronger bridge of the two, holding more matchbox cars than the popsicle bridge.
He got an A on his project.

  1. So the conclusion is that the smaller the pieces of wood used is going to be stronger than using bigger pieces of wood for the same size bridge?
